About North State Steel
In 1984, Thomas F. Trevathan, PE realized the need for quality fabricated steel products. This realization was the beginning of North State Steel, Inc. Starting out in Greenville, North Carolina with only a half-dozen employees and a 5,000 sq ft shop, North State Steel earned a reputation for dedicated service – quality products at a fair price, delivered on time. This experience and knowledge has helped North State Steel strengthen to almost 80 employees and multiple building expansions. In 1994, a second location was opened in Louisburg, North Carolina containing a 12,000 sq ft shop.
Since beginning, the company’s success has enabled them to expand in every aspect of the business. This evolution has taken North State Steel from jobs consisting of only a couple of tons, to larger projects containing a few thousand tons.
In 2018, Tom sold the company to the employees and we are now an ESOP – 100% employee owned company.
